I'm delighted to say that I have two new talks available and I can't wait to get out there and share them.
The first is the return of 'Tales from Dringhouses Railway - the solicitor, the skater, the signalman and the scholar.' These are four fascinating human stories from the part of the East Coast railway that runs south from York through Dringhouses, where I live. In addition to these stories, there is some highway robbery, bombs beside the line and a few other interesting tales!
The second new talk is 'The Nurses of Middlethorpe Hall' - the stories of Ethel Bedford Fenwick and Florence Nightingale Shore, both of whom spent time at the Hall in the 19th century. They were very different women, with very different views, but their lives intersected both in York and during the first World War. One ended up a murder victim and the other was largely responsible for nursing becoming a registered profession ...
